Report
Our first main event of the season, the March Day Meeting at Camberley Heath GC, was blessed with the most glorious Spring weather, sunshine and very little wind - perfect golfing conditions. This year we opened up the event to guests of members, which boosted the turnout to 50 golfers who all played in the18 holes stableford competition. The course was in very good condition, helped by almost a week of dry, sunny weather in the lead up to the event.
With the ideal golfing conditions the stableford scores were generally very good with over 30 golfers getting 30 or more stableford points. The guests participating could win any prize except the trophy which goes to a BA Golf member. First prize with the best score of the day went to Ryan Harpur playing as a guest ( son of golf section member Ray ) with a very good total of 40 points. Just behind in 2nd place was Jim Bermingham with 39 points and winner of the Ian Foster memorial trophy. A further point back in 3rd place was Mark Mahomed. There were 4 nearest the pins, these went to Nigel Weldon, Adrian Meredith, Dean Burton and Richard Croxford. ( See below ) |
