Roll ups over for this season.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stockley Park - Thu, 23rd October

The best attendance of the season with 20 members turning up on a dry but very windy day, which only got stronger as the round went on. The Stockley Park course is continuing to take shape with the various changes starting to take effect including some much needed bunker improvements. 18 of the members took part in Roll Up competition on the day and entered the Winter stableford monthly event. Quite a few good scores over 30 points and a difficult day, with Jeff Thomas 3rd on 36 pt, Ian Forde (fresh from Wentworth) on 37 pts. However the winner who played some very good golf was Jeff Brister with 40 points.

Laleham - Tues, 9th September

On a wet and miserable day 9 hardy souls turned out for this Roll Up. All took part in the competition with Lee Carpenter winning on 36 points and Nigel Weldon 2nd on 32 points.

Stockley Park - Wed, 27th August

We had a good turnout of 14 members including a new member Alan Snow. 13 turn took part in the Roll Up stableford competition on an overcast, breezy day. The course was in better shape than our last event here 2 months ago with the new 9th green in play and the 18th hole switching to the old 9th green with water back in the lake near the clubhouse. The majority of the scores were 33 or better, with 3 getting 40 or more. John Jones returned a score of 40 points for 3rd place, with Jeff Thomas 2nd on 42 points. The winner, Bernie Forbes, also had 42 points but with a better back 9 than Jeff - we probably haven't heard the last of it from that old evergreen.

Laleham - Tues, 22nd July

A glorious Summers day greeted the 8 members who played. The stableford scores were surprisingly disappointing except for Steve McDonald who had an excellent score of 42 points with rest far behind.

Stockley Park - Thur, 26th June

A dry, windy, warm day was the setting for this Roll Up at Stockley Park with 13 members taking park, 11 entered the Roll Up stableford competition and the Summer Medal at Stockley. The fairways were very firm and the greens hard - parched even, generally the course condition was disappointing. Still 8 of the 11 managed 32 points or better, with Lee Carpenter ( for the 2nd Roll Up in succession ) winning with a very good score of 41 points (7 over par gross). Lee was well clear of the field with Steve McDonald on 35 pts and Dave Burton on 34 next in line.

Laleham - Mon, 2nd June

The 10 members who played found the Laleham course in fine condition with very good greens, but with tough rough. The forecast heavy rain kept away until just after everyone finished. In the Roll Up event Lee Carpenter came out on top with 35 stableford points with Jeff Thomas on 33, and three others back on 32 points.

Stockley Park - Thur, 8th May

16 members turned out with 14 taking part in the stableford competition. Finally there was some very warm and sunny golfing weather to enjoy and this led to firmer fairways and quicker greens than of late. Captain, Roger Woof made best use of the conditions with a good score of 38 points, followed by Chris Walker on 34 points. 4 other golfers came in with 32 points with Jeff Thomas best on count back.

Laleham - Tues, 8th Apr

A pleasant and dry afternoon greeted the eight members who played in this roll up, with the Laleham course in good condition considering the snow, frost and rain of late. All golfers scored 30 stableford points or more with Jim Bermingham winning on countback from Dave Burton with 36 points, and Pierre Hostein next on 33 points.

Stockley Park - Thur, 6th Mar

Seven members took part in the first Roll Up. Just a friendly practice round ensued as we got to see the various changes that Stockley Park is undergoing at the moment. The new first hole is being constructed to the left of the old 1st tee so rounds start at the 10th which is now a par 5 for all, this is offset by the existing 1st hole which is now a par 3. It was good to see work has started on a number of bunkers - some with new sand and others being restyled. As the new driving range is being constructed on the first half of the 1st fairway this now impacts on the right hand side of the 18th fairway. Apart from these ongoing changes the course was pretty good order for the time of year.
